Steve Greig still feels devastated months after his dog passed. He then decided to give another dog a chance at a good life. He headed to the local dog shelter in Denver, Colorado, to adopt a rescue. Not just any dog, though, but a senior dog who has difficulty finding a forever home. Seniors are the “least adoptable” types since families prefer younger and bubbly pups. Today, Steve has 10 senior dogs at home and has been busy devoting his life to taking care of them. Photos of his 10 senior dogs posted on his social media page that has garnered 1M followers, and the number is still rising.
“My parents pretty much always let me have whatever I wanted as long as I could take care of it.”
“I decided that the only way I would feel better was if something good happened that probably wouldn’t have happened if my dog has not died.”

Steve wakes up at 5:00 in the morning to prepare breakfast for his senior dogs whose diet varies. His daily schedule consists of walks in the park and vet appointments. He loves to relax at home with them with lots of love and cuddles.
“It’s just fulfilling knowing that these guys are happy, and loved, and well-taken care of.”

“They just make it feel like home.”
“I adopted a 12-year-old Chihuahua with a heart murmur and four bad knees.”
“Being with them makes my days worthwhile.”
“Whenever I sit or lie down at a dog-friendly level, there are always at least three or four dogs attached,” Greig writes on his Instagram page. “They’re just wiser animals. You kind of know what you want out of life once you become a certain age. These older dogs know who they are, and it’s easy to develop a relationship with a person or pet who knows who they are. It’s just fulfilling knowing that these adorable animals are happy, and loved, and well-taken care of. It makes my days worthwhile.”

Steve takes his pets to the vet for pet grooming.

“A normal day for me is getting up at 5:00 AM and making breakfast for all of them.”
Aside from the 10 senior dogs, Steve has a pig named Bikini, a chicken named Betty, and a turkey named Cranberry. At the moment, Steve is not planning on adopting more pets, though he may welcome more senior dogs soon, especially the ones who are having difficulty finding forever homes.
Steve is a busy father to his 10 elderly dogs.
Steve provides medication to the dogs with health problems.
While Steve is away, the crowd loves to bond and enjoy themselves.
Steve comes home for lunch and gives his pets some treats and lets them play outside. Here they are after a long day.
